The first time I installed sliders, in my variator I put some in the wrong way.
When I went for a test ride, I could not get past 40 mph or so.
Maybe your rollers are not in the ramps correctly.
The thing is, if you turn the wheel by hand when the engine is off, only the clutch bell rotates. Neither the variator nor the belt move, and it still makes the noise. This leads me to believe it's not variator or belt related.
