Best carb for under $60 to replace this one?
Kind of as the title says. Old carb once removed was riveted so it isn't serviceable. Looking for a good reliable serviceable carb to replace it with for under $60 preferably through ebay or at least that accepts paypal. I am including pics with everything i could think of to describe the old one. came off a cheap Chinese 2014 tao tao 50cc. Looking to order one today. Thanks!

What was riveted? You got the bowl off, just put in phillips head screws.
The mixture screw is there, it's blocked by that brass cap. It pops right out.

I've tried both of my local hardware stores and auto parts stores and even lowes but for some odd reason no one has screws that will fit this. Maybe I just live in a bad place? But the area you can take apart on a normal carb to check the jet was riveted also when i drilled out the riveted holes it gouged them a little. so honestly I'd rather just not deal with this carb again and just get a more reliable one. Because I know the quality of the original parts on these and would rather just get a good one while it's apart and i have the money.

Amazon sells the 24mm cvk gy6 carb for about $20 shipped.

Hey thanks for the suggestion I searched amazon for what you were talking about https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_n...A24mm+gy6+carb but I can't seem to locate what you're talking about? I see carbs for 125cc and 150cc so I checked into putting one of them on this 50cc and it looks like mods have to be done to parts. So I don't think i've found what you were suggesting. Also if I could ask a couple more questions. 1. is that the best carb for under 60 for this scooter? Also how did you come to the conclusion that I need a 24mm? Is that the smaller measurement? when I found listings on ebay it showed them measuring out the bigger measurement for the 24mm which when converted shows it to be just under 1inch so I'm a little confused.

Most 50cc scoots use an 18mm carb. Measure the inside diameter of the carb throat.....that's the smaller of the two ends, and also closer to the throttle plate. Find a ruler that has mm on one side.
Only you know if you have a two, or four stroke engine. So do a search the way I stated above, and find the one you need.

OK, Thanks guys. Sorry for being so dumb. I've got a learning curve when it comes to these things since I don't understand different mm sizes and main jet and idle jet etc. But I'll find out if any of my tape measures have the mm side. I think they should. never gave it attention lol. But I'll measure the smaller opening and see what I have. I think I have a two stroke if memory serves me correctly since I think four stroke the oil has to be mixed with the gas by two separate filling holes. as where mine just sits on the bottom side of the scooter and only have to fill up the gas tank and then change oil as needed. But aside from all that I think I found the reason why the scooter dies out when I'm riding it now. I think the petcock is bad because I found a video saying that if the petcock just drains gas without the engine being on then it's stuck open which is what mine is doing. I could run the scooter and rev it up without any problem but when I'd get on it and go to accelerate then it would bog down and die if I kept on the gas. But thanks again I'll get to measuring this thing and try to find a carb for it.
