+1 Techie.
Your weights are too heavy. Usually we reduce the weight of the rollers on 50cc's to get better acceleration. No, if you variator is over-tightened, the only problem you will have is it's going to be difficult to remove the variator lock nut next time. The crankshaft has a shoulder machined onto it, preventing this sort of thing. Try 6 g weights or 7g sliders
