Proper performance / racing CDI for TNG Lowboy 150cc

I tried swapping out the CDI on my TNG lowboy but it wouldn't start. The stock CDI works fine.

Wondering what the correct performance / racing CDI is for a TNG Lowboy 150cc? I am not necessarily looking to go crazy, but perhaps just get a little more performance. This worked fine on my 50cc moped and the CDI does list 50cc - 150cc on the label.

Curious if anyone has done this specifically on a TNG lowboy.

I swapped in one of these DC CDIs which does work with the TNG Lowboy. The idle seems a bit better, but the top end lost at least 4-6 MPH which is odd:

I am guessing you can adjust the pot on the unit, but I am not sure. (no instructions came with it)

I say stick with the OEM one. Mine's over 5 years old, has over 12,000 miles on it, and has never given me a moment of trouble. Durability and dependability, mean much more to me, than a gain of 1/10th of a horse power. A 150cc scooter is what it is......Kinda like the old adage...."You can put lipstick on a pig..but it's still a pig"

The stock CDI for the lowboy is fine. Some of the CDIs are garbage and some are quite good at adjusting performance to being a better daily driver.

I did adjust the pot on the third party CDI and it's alright. No crazy gains... jus different.
