Why not just buy another oil pump ??

My friend Pete runs premix = 50:1 plug off the hose from the oil pump really good.

PS, His scoot is too old to get a new oil pump.

Yes, From the oil tank to the pump and pump to the carb.

Then the pump will be doing nothing but pumping air.

I wish that you wouldn't go this route. Whats a new pump cost $20 maybe ?

You get the premix wrong just once and you are screwed.

Scooterwayne is right. If you're not absolutely sure about what you are doing you could absolutely wreck an otherwise good engine. Have you checked into what a new pump would cost?

I just don't see why I would need a new pump it only has 460 miles on it.when I bought it I was adjusting the throttle cable thinking it would take some of the play out of it.i was reading that this controls the oil to the pump.i have a 2011 jonway with the minerelli engine if that makes a difference.i would like to use the injecter cause its easier

Sometimes you get a bad new part.

I've bought things before that were new and they didn't work or failed really quickly.

Bad oil pumps are very common in the 50cc 2t motors, I suggest you premix your oil. Its better to know you have the right mixture all the time, I have spent days on warranty repairs of these faulty pumps, now I remove them and tell them to premix. Just do not premix in your tank, get a 2-5 gallon can and mix it all at once. most 50cc will do 45mph running 32:1 very safe and cool running mix. 4 oz per gallon
