great scooter just died on way home
i was toolin along on my taotao 50 yesterday (it was running great, as usual for initial 8k miles) when the engine started revving VERY high, it lost power & died. any suggestions as to possible problem(s)? any help would be greatly appreciates as this is my only transportation.
i was asked on another forum whether the scooter would start. yesterday it didn't. but, today, when i went to get it with a pickup... it DID! yay. started again when i got home but i'm VERY hesitant to ride it anywhere. don't want to go through the same experience. thanks, rich Last edited by rcmink; 10-16-2016 at 07:59 PM. check your belt and clutch assembly, it might have been slipping and overheating the engine

You could've soft seized the motor also. Not a tough fix for a good DIYer pull the jug and get new rings. Before that though do a vompression check and see if it's that or maybe just aa electrical engineering Robles. Sometimes you can burn a coil like that but since you said it did fire up most likely not.
