New bike issues

My new Chinese motorcycle isn't starting. It feels to me like it's a fuel problem (I put 1 gallon in but it still says empty on the gauge). Also, there is a battery light in my dash that stays on even when I turn it over.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Check the wiring from the fuel level sensor indicator first. Second drain the gas tank and pull the float sensor out and see it the float is attached. You should also be able to move the arm up and down and watch the needle on the fuel gauge go up and down as well. The battery light most likely means that the battery is not charging. PM me the specs on the machine and I will see what I can find.
