Doh! Sym Fiddle III 200 No Spark

Hi Everyone,

I have a 2017 Sym Fiddle III and that doesn't seem to spark, so far I've swapped the ignition coil, plugs and I've even changed the stator coil.

The stator flywheel however looks very rusted on the outside. I've attached a pic. However, I read somewhere that rust on a stator flywheel shouldn't make much difference. Is this true?

Or does anyone else know what may be the issue?

I haven't done anything with the cdi box yet. Am I right that it's the fairly electronic control box screwed to then engine unit? It looks very different from the searches I see when trying to find one...

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

The Fiddle III was fuel injected with sensors galore and an ECU. The downside is that when it goes to hell you need to go to the dealer. Sorry. Modern Tech has taken the machine out of the backyard mechanic's hands.

Damn. Oh well it's at least good to know that I'm not going nuts.
