Winter came fast!

As you might have read I bought a brand new Genuine Roughhouse just a couple of weeks ago. Sadly mother nature ruined any notions of me burning off the first 500 off the clock, I got 47 clicks on the dial (I bought it with 5 so it's up to 52) before I had to park it for winter :( So hopefully a simple question here: Will it or does it affect the break in process to have only run it that little and then restart in the Spring? Curious to hear/read opinions

I sure hope not.....for back in September, I bought a 2006 Ural, with just 40km (24)miles on it. I have put another 783 km on it, but at 823km (511 miles), this bike is nowhere near broken in.....and it will be 10 years old come spring.

My scoot, with 2000 miles at the end of it's first season, wasn't fully run in. It ran better the second year.....better yet the third season......and this year (forth season), even more power, and a 4+ mpg improvement over last year's average. Odometer now stands at 8605 miles.

So the answer to your ? Is no.......don't worry about it......it will be fine

Glad to read that! I'll put plenty on the clock this Spring and Summer. My last scooter (the one you see shown) had 5K on the clock but I rode it daily for over 8 months putting triple digits on the tripmeter some days

fwiw.. what RKS has observed is something I have seen many times as well. The more you ride it, the better it runs. Just remember to pull the maintenance as they are not forgiving in that area.

I have the 2 year serviceplan on it so once the clock hits 500 I gotta bring her in. It's not that I mind doing it myself but the dealer can do a better job and much faster. Seeing as i wont be worried about changing my oil the next time I go in is at 1500 and then at 3K by then the warranty will be up and I can think about a BBK

Before you get sucked into that BBK nonsense, read the link below. Pretty substantial improvements in performance can be had without touching the engine.
