Governor

I ride a 2000 E-ton Beamer. I'm trying to get a correct answer to a question. Is there a governor on my scoot and if so how do I disconnect it?

Thanks
Pappy

From what I've read there is a RPM limiter on the CDI. You can cut the green wire on it and defeat that rev limiter. 40 - 45 seems to be the top speed on these when stock with the rev limiter wire cut. Just google rev limiter 200 E-ton Beamer. Your on your own when you do this. I've got a 50cc scooter and bent the front rim when I hit a pot hole going faster than I should have been going. The Beamer is a higher quality machine and should do better ... but, well, it's a scooter with small tires and the suspension is limited. Be careful.

I thought you had an aftermarket CDI on your scooter? If so, you dont have a electronic restriction. If you have any restriction on it at all, it would be a washer in the variator and/or a exhaust cone/washer. I derestricted a Buddy 50 not long ago. Had a spacer in the variator and a easy to remove washer in the exhaust. Went from 30mph to 45mph. Thats the max speed for this Buddy because the stock reduction gearing limits it to that speed. I think that is plenty fast in my opinion, and note that its also quick off the line, so the owner is very happy now.
