168cc tops at 49 mph

I just got a new Tank 200 (168.9cc) and the rpm is HARD limit at 6500 with speed ranging from 45 to 48 mph.

I bought a new 49cc for a friend and his can go 38 gpsv. I feel a 168 should be a bigger difference than that. I was hoping to use on state routes where speed is 55... And not hold up traffic.

Should I start by changing to a cdi with higher rev limit? Is it possible they have a speed restrictor ring like the 50cc? I'm going to end up needing a gear kit aren't I 😭

Details needed for the Tank 200:
You still breaking it in?
Are you follow the break-in procedure in the owners manual?
If your'e done with the break-in did you check the valves?
I take it the Tank has a tach, and that's how you know the RPM's?
I'm breaking in a new Genuine Buddy 125 right now. I only have 170 miles on it. I've been following the FortNine YouTube break-in procedure as close as possible. I expect 60 to 65 mph top end once done, as I've owned 2 Buddy 125's in the past.

It's the Frontier QX200, name on title is Tank 200 (sorry for not being specific) Chinese scooter. Same as the Tahiti 150 from Amazon but with a 168cc instead of a 149.

It's still breaking in, it said 30mph for 300 miles then do first oil change. I'm 75 miles on it now, started at 0.0 on odo.

Initially I kept it under 20 on my private road until it gets 10 miles. Then I started running in 30 for short distance. At this point I'm varying it up and down since just holding it at 30 seems like it would be worse.

Our Honda 110 has been pushed since day one, completely ignoring all break-in period and it's never had any issues. Goes 62mph all day long

I'm 207. Reason I got this is because weight limit is 440lb. I plan on having a passenger often. Thinking I should have spent 300% more and got the suzuki 200 lol.

Weight overall won't have a huge effect (see what I did there?). Anyways, I weigh 220ish and my wife is in the 140 bracket and all it does is dull take off a little e bit. Once underway my Buddy 125 will still hit 60mph no problem with both of us on it.

You might have something slowing up the CVT. Heck, the factory could have accidentally installed a restriction. But I doubt that but still check. Spacer between the variator ramps and check the exhaust for a washer, usually at were the exhaust connects to the cylinder.

Wrong weight rollers can slow everything down as well.

Damaged spark plug cap, wrong/crappy quality plug or gap setting/obstruction.

Bad accelerator pump? I had one mess up on my wife's Buddy.

That's all I can think of right now.....
