2015 season coming to a close
We've had some great weather this week in the Northeast, and I have covered 100 miles on the scoot, and another 120 on the Ural, since Sunday. But this is all coming to an end real soon, so I've filled the tanks on everything, getting ready for hibernation mode.
It's been a good year for two wheelers, (weather wise) and at least for me another breakdown, accident, or other such incident free one. The scoot is running great, and still amazes me with its power, dependability, and economy. Covered 2,916.2 miles since last November's final fill up Bought 32.581 gallons of non ethanol gas, in 30 trips to the gas station Paid $112.60 for the gas, plus $1.90 for the 14.1 total oz of MMO add during the 30 fill ups (.4 to .5 oz per) Total cost $114.50 Average MPG for 2916.2 miles......89.50 Fuel cost per mile 3.93 cents Scoot has 8,701.4 miles on it. Original spark plug, coil, CDI, variator, clutch. Only mods are 115 main jet with K&N Filter, and 14gr sliders in variator. Have driven 6,200 miles since last valve adjustment, and haven't adjusted or cleaned the carb since installing the larger main jet in 2012, when odometer read 366 miles. I have replaced the auto enricher though. With the proper care, and feeding, Chinese scooters can be amazing little machines. Last edited by rks; 11-27-2015 at 06:23 PM. Reason: One more fueling, due to unexpected nice weather |

I can ride almost year round in the Houston area too. We pay for it during the summer afternoon commutes. I still enjoy the summer afternoon commutes as long as I have enough drinking water on board and a little breeze.

Thought I was done for the year.....a little snow the last couple of days, but not enough for our town to get the salt trucks out. Supposed to be upper 50's on Thanksgiving, and 60 the day after. Might just squeeze one more ride in....sure hope so.
PS: Did get to ride 3 days this week, a total of 96 miles. I have edited all numbers in first post, due to these miles, and one more fueling......End of November, and still scootin'.....life is good. Last edited by rks; 11-27-2015 at 06:29 PM. |

Guess I really jumped the gun starting this thread.....here it is December 10th, and I'm still scootin in Western NY. I've been out with it 3 days this week, and it looks as if the next 3 days will be good riding weather too. Hope this weather lasts til March.....then warms up some.......but having lived here for 68 years, I realize that just ain't going to happen.
