Hi Hank,
Per Maine's Bureau of motor vehicles website, a title is not issued unless a motorcycle/scooter is over 300cc. Since the scooter I'm selling is 150cc, a title is not needed. You can view the website here:
http://www.maine.gov/sos/bmv/Title/index.htm
What does MCO stand for? When I go to sell the scooter, I was going to complete a bill of sale and also sign over ownership by filling out the back of my registration to the new owner. Is there something else that needs to be filled out when I go to sell it? Thanks, Mike

Hi Mike
Manufacturer Certificate of Origin (MCO)
Reason i ask is if i were to buy your scooter and try to register it in CT i would need a title or MCO, i was interested until i leaned that you dont have either
Most states require them, yours is one of the few that dosent

Hi Hank,
I called my local department of motor vehicles and told them that I don't have a title, since Maine doesn't require them for anything less than 300cc's. I told them that someone from CT might be interested in purchasing my scooter, but their state requires a title. Carol said that wasn't a problem because if I pay her $10 and provide her the VIN, which I have no problem doing, she'll draw up a "Letter of Verification", which you can then give to your DMV office, and that will be just as good as a title. Carol did say that it could take 7-10 business days until I receive that Letter. If you are still interested, is that something you would like me to do for you?
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike
CT is quite specific when it comes to registration no title or mco and its quite difficult to get a vehicle registered
Ive tried it before and the trouble is not worth the time and effort
So sorry but i shall have to pass on her
Take care and ride safely
Yours Hank
