Sym Fiddle II 125cc won't turnover

I have a 2012 Sym Fiddle ii 125 that was sitting for a couple years. I recently got the scooter running with a new battery however the overflow valve on the carb was spitting out gas immediately.

After a carb clean, checking the input of fuel into the carb via the drain line, checking the fuel line into the carb, new spark plug, new fuel, I cannot get the bike to turn over. I am trying a compression test today after work as a next step.

What I can't understand is why the scooter fired up before the carb clean with what seemed to be blocked valves and floats but won't anymore. Has anyone seen this before?

Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks for your time

My guess is the float height is wrong on the carb. Perhaps the float was caught while removing the float bowl?

Carbs get nasty from sitting. Sometimes you get lucky and can rebuild/fix them, other times corrosion gets the best of 'em. Glad its up and running! Its a nice scooter by the way.
