Piaggio

What are your thoughts on the Piaggio Fly 50? Looks like an interesting Italian scoot for around 2k.

They are nice but heavy and boy is the seat height high, compounded with the wide body it makes for a difficult reach to the ground. Don't buy if you're shorter than 5'5" and not accustomed to one footing it or tip toeing.

I had a Fly 150 before. Let me tell you one thing they are a pain to work on. So much body panels with tons of hidden screws needed to remove to adjust valves and just to change the oil filter you had to remove the muffler.

But they ride like a dream. Handling was the best I've ever ridden. Stable and yet at the same time nimble and a very plush suspension with excellent damping. Very well engineered but like all Italian vehicles very quirky. The body panel removal drove me crazy along with muffler removal for an oil change.
