It's all the original frame.

That same geometry is under the plastic on almost all of these China scooters. What gives them the strength to survive is "most" of the manufacturers use chromolly steel. Welding is out of the question unless you have or have access to a TIG welder.

On the good side of that you can easily drill, and bolt modification to the frame if you're careful about avoiding stress points.

That bike I paid 150.00 for. It was your typical "buy it, and ride it" for a year or so. Then it sat because it wouldn't start. It sat for around 7 years...
Twenty minutes after buying it, I had it running (replaced the carb).

Then the gremlins awoke. Crappy wiring (replaced it all with my own), bad key switch (junked it for the toggle switch), headlights were weak (put on a Harley driving light), body panels were falling off (threw them out).
Like I said... The paint (AwlGrip mixed to a Kawi green)) cost more than the bike.

Look at Craigs list near any collage town... You'll find a marginal POS China bike for under 200.00, and for another 100.00 or so Ebay will fix everything. Don't be affraid to scrap everything that is NOT what you want.

Remember when you were a kid, and all you wanted was that Sears mini bike for Xmas?
Everyday is Xmas for me because I get to ride My version of that mini bike.
