The return of the Matrix
Hello all,
First off, I am new here and I apologize if I am posting this in the wrong area. Moderator, feel free to move where needed. I wanted to document my progress on reviving a 2009 UM Matrix II 170. It has sadly been sitting for the past two years after she broke down on me on the road. I neglected her due to my other toy (a 1990 Jeep Cherokee, 4" lift, 33" bone crushing tires, and a dare to get stuck in any mud pit). But now I am back to being responsible and having a steady job and would rather drive something that doesn't break the bank, or pump. The reason for the breakdown is unknown. The electric starter was the first thing to go, fortunately I had the kickstart to get me going until death day. I should have taken the hint, but did not. I have the scooter disassembled and am going to be ordering parts. Would love all of ya'lls knowledgeable advice on parts to get, where to buy and what to worry about. I don't believe this bike is a lost cause. I believe with a little love, some patience and some elbow grease, I can get this thing back as my commuter vehicle. I am going to attempt to attach some pictures. This will show you what she is looking like, guts exposed and all. Once I have an idea of my shopping list, I will post that. Appreciate everything. Edit: Photos didn't work first time around. Will try when I return from my adventures. |
