Did you check the engine intake for cracks, leaks or worn gaskets? Have you tried spraying Gumout in and around the carb, vacuum lines and intake while running to see if the idle is affected? I've seen hairline cracks/almost imperceptible gaps in the intake manifold itself that expand as the engine heats up, thereby causing a vacuum deficiency.
