Thumbs Up Hello Everyone Glad I am Here! Yay!

I love this forum. Its great! I have been the proud owner of a vintage 1985 Honda Aero 80 with about 5,000 original miles on her. You see it was a birthday present about 10 years ago and I haven't got a motorcycle license. So I rode it very sparingly. (It takes 2 years and $2,000 to get a motorcycle license in Quebec.) The Honda is a great scooter, and I also had a Yamaha QT-50 (Yamahopper) which is a no ped and I could ride that any time . But the Yamaha is not the most reliable bike in the world. It has a shaft drive system and it occasionally locks up. It has no odometer but I must have much miore mileage on that then I would care to admit.

So now I got divorced (say any ladies reading this I AM available, and boy am I a prize.....) and I bought myself a TOMOS Nitro 50! Whoopie! Its black and its beautiful.

I did a ton of research and boiled it down to three respectable Chinese bikes,,, the Linhai (quality control by Yamaha and perhaps the best GY6 engines around), Keeway Fact 50 (they are tuned by Banelli you know. The Keeway Fact 50 is the most popular scoot in Canada. Yes its pure Chinese...), and finally my Nitro 50 which I reasoned was made by SYM in a plant in China that also was producing the SYM Simply. How can I go wrong?

To date its had plenty of issues. It starts but will stall easily until warm. After a bit of a run and then sitting for a while it is somewhat difficult to start. (I only use 93 octane fuel...) The front fender came loose while driving, got caught in the wheel and ripped apart. (A new $75 fender is on its way, my argument is that it should be covered by warranty because the dealer didn't do a good job of installing it in the first place.)

My scooter (don't get me wrong I am still in love with it...) only has 50km on it (30 or so miles...)

My biggest complaint is ride quality. The scooter has a very high center of gravity. It bounces around the rutted city streets and tosses me to and fro. I think it just about becomes airborne. No joke. If anyone knows how to improve the ride quality please let me know.

Anyway I look to become a vital part of this vibrant community where Chinese scooter owners are welcomed and where we all try to help one another.
