Headlight doesn't work

I bought a new gy6 scooter (Chelsea 150cc) in the spring and the headlight has never worked. I changed the bulb a while back but that didn't help. I just tore it apart today and so far I've direct wired the bulb to the battery (the bulb works), checked continuity in the headlight harness and from the stator wire to the headlight harness and all appears to be correct.

Any thoughts what could be wrong or what I should check next?

If you checked all your wiring and the volts are live going to the headlight socket. Leads me to believe .. there is issues with the socket itself. Maybe the positive contacts in it are set too low and are not making good contact with the the positive contacts on the bottom of the Bulb. Might have to get another new socket and try that. For help.. this is all I can offer.
