It depends entirely on your skill, and available tools. I'm a scooter builder, so I can swap an engine in minutes, you might take longer.
If your crankcase is broken, you need a new engine.

I agree totally! I've got the tools but you might not. Also , I've been to the Triumph East Coast School but everything has changed! My advice : Get a Service Manual & you will be able to tell & it will also give your tolerances! Irish
