49cc bogging down when "recelerating"

I have a 2017 Bintelli Sprint. The airbox was broken when I got it, and I bought a new carb that came with pod style air filter. I've gotten it running fairly well... Bought a set of main jets and experimented. It has an 88 main jet installed right now, which gives me the best performance, but the next size lower I have is an 80, and that's too lean.

With the 88, it accelerates well, and gives the best top speed out of the jets I have. The only issue is that if I let off the throttle to slow down (like to make a turn), then open the throttle back up, it bogs down slightly before catching up again. Does this indicate that Im too rich?

Maybe the opposite. An air pod will lean out the flow. Look for a vacuum, leak, cracked intake manifold or a vacuum line cracked or off.
