Im about to upgrade my 50cc peace sports to a 72cc. I spoke to someone and they told me if i use the stock head my scooter will be faster than using the 47mm head that is coming in the kit. Is this true? This is the kit http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ilpage_o01_s00. Also any other upgrade advice would be great as well.

yes it will, BUT remember it increases the compression ratio so you MUST use premium grade fuel-- no more regular or midgrade and you should not increase timing through crank sensor realignment.

I am concerned as to why you are not going to the 82cc / 83cc upgrade?
