Good article. E-scooters are getting better and more affordable.
Being an e-bike owner, I have to disagree with the author on a few things.
-No remaining domestic e-scooter companies?
US based ZEV is currently selling e-scooters with hub motors up to 10KW.

-Time required to recharge batteries is a big problem?
Not for me. I take my battery charger when commuting to work.
They recharge while I work.
-I disagree with the author that e-bicycles make e-scooters look bad.
E-bicycles allow a consumer to become confortable with battery electric propulsion
at a lower price point. I'm not referring to e-scooters that happen to have a small, vestigial set of pedals and cranks, so that a license isn't required, I am referring to e-bikes that have nice light frames
and good components. E-scooters and e-bikes each have distinct advantages.
-I enjoyed the article, but obviously the author and I have had very different experiences with electric propulsion, leading to our different opinions.
