Tinkerer Enlisted!

Hey SD persons of interest!

ForCom5 here, with my unexciting 2015 TaoTao ATM50-A1.

That is (almost) all.

I decided to get a scooter after I flushed around $6,000 for a car I owned all of four months and was sick of taking the bus places and was too cheap to get a motorcycle endorsement to ride anything more fun than a 50cc scoot.

Scoot:

Currently operating under the motto "low speed, high drag!"

I gotta admit, I love it so far! So much so, I've decided that it'll be more than worth it to slap a few more speedy components on it, along with a few more bells and whistles to make it a lot more enjoyable (and susceptible to being stolen)!

Pleasure to make all your acquaintances. Given I have no other mode of transportation, and all of moped army hates scoots, and scoots seem to reeeeaally dislike TaoTao, I should do fairly well here! I'll be sure to keep you all posted on how things go, because if I ever reach speeds as fast as flowing traffic, it'll be thanks to you guys!

See you all in the threads!

Welcome to the forum. No scooter snobs here. Quite a few Tao Tao owners on board here.

The scooter sub over on Reddit is disappointingly TaoTaophobic, which sucks because I'm really enjoying my scoot and was hoping for it to be more hospitable. Oh well, you all seem to be great thus far! I actually direct a lot of TaoTao owners brave enough to post on there to this forum for that reason.

I mean, geez, I understand you may need to have a little extra inclination to get a little grease on your fingers, but they're still good machines. The GY6 Engine has parts for days! It's super-friendly to people new to tinkering with engines (me), and overall just seems cost-effective when done right. Definitely know it'll be a while before I get another four-wheeled vehicle though, that's for sure.

By the way, ForCom, it's not necessary to sign an enlistment for ScootDawg. You may be confusing us with mopedarmy.com. Those guys are a little, uh, different.
