2011 Jonway 150cc

4000 miles on my 2011 Jonway 150cc. Modified slightly. Took off all the pollution control stuff. Alarm and radio are gone, (my choice). Exhaust fell off once. Welded it back together and put it back on. It will reach 55mph, GPS, if I push it. Says 65 on Speedometer. I cruise at 50mph at 7000rpm. Last I checked I was getting 62mpg. Tires still good, but brakes squeak a little. I am real happy with it. I ride it to work and back. Dependable scooter. Only bad thing so far is, I am using duck tape to hold my headlight rim on.

There are headlight trim rings available for our scooter. Mine is an identical twin to yours, and it too, has been very dependable....100% in fact.

Installing a set of 110/90-12's, at tire change time, would bring the speedo a bit closer to reality (they stand 30mm, or 1.18" taller than the standard 120/70-12). After doing this, my speedo is still a bit optimistic, but better than it was.....and the odometer is now almost dead on (within a couple of tenths, in 100 miles). This also gears your scooter a bit higher, meaning slightly reduced rpm's...which should improve gas mileage. Of course, the best way to do that is to just slow down.

There are many thousands of miles left in your scoot, if it's properly cared for.

I like the tire idea, however I am a short person. I already have to tip toe. This is a pretty tall scooter. I would like to find a way to make it shorter. Any ideas there?

Maybe a pair of platform shoes....just kidding. You are right about this model being tall, even with a 32" inseam, I can't sit with both feet flat on the ground, while stopped. I can with my 1200cc bikes, but their seats are 2.5" closer to the ground, than the scooter's is.

These scooters are much more reliable than people give them credit for. The day of the "Disposable" Chinese scooter passed many years ago, if the day existed at all. My 2008 and 2009 Chinese run like new with one 9,700 and the other at 16,000 miles. Used sensibly and cared for they will continue to give you value.
