performance clutch (springs)

I bought a performance clutch with the red springs 2000.when I installed and took off it was bogging and had to push off with my feet to get going.i took it apart and noticed the clutch was tight in the bell.i put the old springs back on and every thing was fine but still im not getting what I want or paid for.why would these new springs not pull in the clutch in order for it to have play in the bell.its so tight it doesn't have a chance for the motor to rev
