clutch stuck?

rode my scooter yesterday and everything was fine .started it today and the rear wheel was moving.if I try to stop it by hand off the center stand it will stall.what would cause this?

ok heres what I found.i took the cover off and turned the clutch by hand and noticed there is a piece of material floating around under the clutch cover.i cant see it good but it looks like a brake shoe.when I turn it by hand some times it is free and some times it locks up.i cant get the nut off and I don't no if it is left hand thread or right.

you might have broken a clutch spring, you would need to remove the nut holding the clutch together to see it
