125cc to 150/160cc upgreade
Hi guys! I have a 125cc, and i'm looking for just a little more power so i can keep up with the traffic better. What is the best way to do that and still keep it reliable? i was thinking of putting a bigger bore kit on (150cc or 160cc) and maybe some of those Dr Pulley sliders/rollers on. Would that give something more? I can get it to about 52 mph as it is now (bone stock) on a straight flat road. I would love to hit about 60-65 ish.
I may need to mention that the bike is pretty much brand new. Only got 350 km on it (218 miles) and its a Gy6 The engine type is a 1p52qmi |

If you really need those speeds, you should have bought something in the 250 size. Your scooter isn't close to being broken in at 218 miles, (took me 6 oil changes and 2500 miles before my oil screen came out totally free of any metal) and you're doing top end runs with 200 miles operated? Not a good idea, if you expect it to last more than a few months. Your top speed will probably increase by 3 or so when break in is complete, fiddle with the jetting and add a free flow filter and gain a couple more....but a steady diet of 60+, and it will come apart.
Think you better accept your scoot for what it is...or move up to a 250 class. |

You can easily put a 150 kit on with no chance of damage, it will fit right in the crankcase, thats your best bet. Then upjet your carb to somewhere around 105. 160 kits and larger dont generally fit the crankcase without machining the case. you should be able to reach 65mph. And as far as break in, you do want to reach high rpms, for short periods of time, reach your top speed and then let go of the throttle.

Thanks a lot guys! Its my first scooter, and first chineese bike ever. So i'm a bit new to this. I will give it more time to break in, and be more gentle with it And i'll see what its like after 1000+ km
