Honda Metro = GY6?
Does my Honda Metropolitan use a GY6 engine? I'd sure like to get a BBK for the Metro!

Hi
Welcome aboard Pleased to meet you What year is yours The 2002 to 2009 Metropolitan uses a GET2 engine. This engine was also used in the Honda Ruckus, but with a longer swing arm. More info on the 2002 to 2009 Honda Metropolitan http://motorscooterguide.net/Honda/M...ropolitan.html The 2013 metropolitan uses a AF70E engine More info on the 2013 model http://motorscooterguide.net/Honda/N...an-Giorno.html Take care and ride safely Yours Hank |

Hank says it all  |
Mine is 2006, the Link above is very helpful, thank you for that!
I have not been able to find anything regarding a Big Bore Kit for the Metro, am I out of luck? I'm fairly happy with the Metro, I get about 35-38 MPH out of it, but my acceleration table looks like this- 0-20 1 Block 0-30 2 Blocks 0-35 3 Blocks If I could get 'er up to 30 in 1 Block, I'd be a happy camper! FWIW, I'm nearly 60, have had motorcycles continuously since I was 14, currently have 4 in addition to the Metro. Around town, the Metro is by far and away the most fun to drive. |
Hi
Your most welcome Theres not a lot out there for aftermarket performance parts for the Metro You could try changing the variator weights to get some more acceleration off the line lighter weights would accomplish that, and a tuned pipe would help squeeze a little more performance out of the engine http://gokartsusa.com/hondascooterparts.aspx Take care and ride safely Yours Hank |
