We've completely dried out fuel tanks before and had splits and other damage brazed. Also used that Kreem tank sealant with mixed results. Both require you to remove the tank from the scooter and on some (Burgman scooters) it be a royal PITA. Also seen mixed results with JB Weld BUT I've heard a rumor they (JB Weld) sell a fuel resistant "tank seal" kit.

So you found that there is a split causing the leak? If so, any idea what caused it? My Burgman had a leak where the fuel meter float went into the tank. I think a gasket failed. The tank gets slightly pressurized while running and fuel would seep out. I never fixed it because of the tank location.
