new pipe
the scooter mechanic here said my scooter doesn't have any restrictions even the pipe.im wondering since I only have maybe 5h.p on my 2t would a pipe and filter do much.it does 42 now and 7000 rpm at 40

If you want more speed than that you need to get a BBK and a pipe, and probably a bigger carb, but then you'll need to re-tune the transmission because the pipe will shift the powerband way up in the RPM range. However, once you get it sorted out, you're looking at more like 50mph+ all-out, and an easy cruise at 40-45. You can also change the gears in your transmission for the highest possible top speed.

Yea it depends on the size of the carb, if it's a 14mm or larger you can just get a bigger main jet. (Around an 84 usually.) If you do decide to upgrade the carb, go with a 17.5mm.

Measure the width of the smallest part of the carb throat where the slide is.
